Anna Loveys Calamare grew up dancing at the Art of Dance, where her passion for dance first began. Anna went to college at Bucknell University and graduated in May 2013. While attending Bucknell, she was an active member of the Bucknell Dance Company where she performed and choreographed pieces for the company as well as the student showcase series. During her undergraduate study, Anna spent a semester abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, where she participated in African dance classes. Since graduating, Anna has been invited back to Bucknell as a guest artist choreographer. Anna went on to spend two years with Pushing Progress Contemporary Dance in their Contemporary Training Program in New York City. Through this training program, Anna performed in various dance projects and showcases such as J. Chen Project, NYC10 Dance Initiative and the Pushing Progress Showcase Series. Anna spent the past 5 years in Boston, MA as a performing arts faculty member at Noble and Greenough School, a prestigious coed independent school outside of Boston, grades 7-12. Creating art is a passion for Anna; she hopes to inspire others through dance. Anna has been so fortunate to have had exceptional dance teachers and mentors, and it is her hope to pay it forward and to pass her knowledge on to younger generations. Anna moved back to New Jersey to be closer to her family and is thrilled to be teaching at The Art of Dance. It truly feels like a full circle!
